POSTPONED OR CANCELLED EVENTS:

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), set for May 4-7 in Houston, Texas, has been postponed. In a statement, organizers say that the show will take place later this year, in either August or September.

The American Chemical Society has stated that it is “inadvisable, and impractical,” to hold the ACS Spring 2020 National Meeting & Expo in Philadelphia and it has therefore terminated the event.

The Southern Gas Association has pushed back two of its conferences – the Spring Gas Conference & Expo will now take place from August 4-6 in Columbia, South Carolina. Its Management Conference is also postponed, but the association has not yet selected a new date for the event.

In Germany, Neuman & Esser has postponed Compressor Day 2020 until  October 8, 2020

Originally set for early April, the Asia Turbomachinery & Pump Symposium (ATPS) has also been postponed. the show will occur from August 4-6 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. No statement has been issued for the domestic Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia, which is held annually in Houston in the fall.

EASA has canceled its “Root Cause Failure Analysis” seminar scheduled for March 27-28 in Dallas, Texas, and in a statement released today says that they are “continuing to monitor” the situation for the EASA 2020 Convention & Solutions Expo. The association also stated that attendance fees will be refunded in full if it turns out that EASA does need to cancel.

The ACEEE’s Hot Water Forum, originally scheduled for last week, has been pushed back to July 20-22. The forum will still be held in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown Hotel. Over the next few months, ACEEE will continue to keep everyone updated with new details about the July event, with the hopes that the impact of COVID-19 is behind us. Most of the program is in place and presenters are confirmed.

CONTINUING EVENTS:

On a statement released March 16, the National Fire Protection Association said there are no changes to the Conference and Expo in response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) but they are monitoring the situation with the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other global and local health organizations and resources for developments that may inform future decisions. Should changes be made they will be communicated on the organization’s website.

The American Water Works Association still plans on holding its upcoming Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE20), June 14-17 in Orlando, Florida. AWWA has created a resource page on its website for updates and we’ll link to that in the show notes.
