MIKI PULLEY
Jaw Spider Couplings
Miki Pulley’s ALS couplings are general purpose power transmission couplings designed to transmit torque by connecting two shafts while damping system vibrations and accommodating misalignment. With a “Curved Jaw” design, ALS couplings feature a polyurethane elastomer element (called the spider) between two sintered aluminum hubs. The three-component assembly fits together with a jaw from each hub precisely fitted with lobes of the spider. In operation, the jaw coupling torque is transmitted through the elastomer lobes in compression. For more information, call Jon Davidson at 800.533.1731 or email jdavidson@mikipulley-us.com.
PCB PIEZOTRONICS, INC. Z
Model EX378B02 Hazardous Location Microphone and Preamplifier
PCB Piezotronics, Inc. released a prepolarized condenser microphone system—Model EX378B02—for use in hazardous areas. The new microphone system is compliant with explosive atmospheres and gaseous hazardous environments where standard microphones are restricted. Additionally, EX378B02 is compliant with intrinsic safety protection levels for all above ground applications globally; below ground very high mine safety protection levels for all mining locations outside of North America; and below ground Mine Safety tests in Europe. COVAL
LEM+ and LEMAX+ Intelligent Vacuum Pumps
COVAL is expanding its range of intelligent vacuum pumps with the launch of new products: LEM+ and LEMAX+. Increased power is combined with COVAL vacuum pump qualities: performance, compactness and energy savings. The LEM+ and LEMAX+ are the perfect mixture of more (bigger) power and smaller size. For the integrator and user these two qualities are a guarantee of easy installation and performance. Compared to similar products in terms of power, the LEM+ and LEMAX+ are by far the most compact vacuum pumps on the market. For more information, visit www.coval-inc.com.
VAL-MATIC
Stainless Steel Wastewater Air Valves
Val-Matic’s Stainless Steel Wastewater Air Valves perform two important functions in a piping system: they maintain system design efficiency and provide system protection. Exhausting and admitting air keeps the system from restricted flow reducing pumping costs and reduces the potential for destructive surges and water hammer that can collapse a pipeline. The seamless cast stainless steel body prevents corrosion and increases integrity which is lightweight to facilitate installation. The valve design provides ease of maintenance and years of trouble-free operation in the harshest conditions. The cast stainless steel bodies are recommended for severe service where hydrogen sulfide or industrial chemicals produce accelerated corrosion in iron. For more information, visit www.valmatic.com.
SVF CONTROLS
EZ-Tork Actuator
The EZ-Tork Actuator is a pneumatic rack and pinion actuator engineered for dependable and smooth operation in demanding process control applications. It comes with an ISO 5211/NAMUR design for universal mounting and accessory attachment. Special mechanical features of the EZ-Tork Actuator include a “Versa-View” continuous mechanical position indicator and bi-directional stroke pinion travel stop adjustments that ensure precise positioning in all flow control services. EZ-Tork travel stops have been designed to absorb the actuator’s maximum rated torque and the maximum impact loads associated with the recommended stroke speed. LMI
PD Series Metering Pumps
The PD Series helps users simplify selection, configuration, and operation. The intuitive user interface makes it easy for operators to examine capacity settings and set flow rates to a desired output. These features improve safety and give operators confidence that the pumps are working as configured. New alarm indicators for tank levels are brightly displayed on a large color display. The new pumps feature improved hardware, a new graphical user interface, and external control inputs. Enhanced software facilitates new calibration assist capabilities, plus new functionality to log pump strokes, estimated volume, and power cycles. For more information, visit www.lmipumps.com.
HAYWARD FLOW CONTROL
True Union Ball Check Valves
Hayward Flow Control adds True Union Ball Check Valve of natural PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) to its material offering. By adding PVDF to the line, the TC Series extends the range of applications and services where Hayward’s True Union Ball Check Valves can be installed. Higher temperature services, extreme corrosive media, and high purity systems are now covered. The TC Series features a true union design with threaded or IPS Sch40/80 socket fusion end connections. The ball is made from solid PTFE. Sizes include 1/4 inch through 1 inch. For more information, visit www.haywardflowcontrol.com.
BIONOMIC INDUSTRIES, INC.
Rotabed Fluidized Bed Scrubber
Designed to handle gas capacities from 500 through 250,000 acfm, the RotaBed’s superior performance comes from a unique swirl induced Coriolis grid that achieves much greater fluidized bed stability, resulting in more efficient gas mixing and transfer efficiency than less advanced designs. The scrubber’s turbulent, “packless”, highly plug resistant mass transfer bed is up to 99 percent open in the fluid contact scrubbing zone and delivers ultra-high efficiency gas absorption and particulate collection of over 99 percent on most applications.
